It has been an exciting summer at GFS as teachers prepare for a new year and students look forward to the first day of school. As always, our teachers are making lots of exciting plans for the year, which will find students exploring the theme of "Caring For Our World and Ourselves". A high point of the year will surely be the school-wide trip to the Corning Museum of Glass in October. The Greenwood Observatory has appeared on the back lawn—be sure to check it out. There will be an official opening / "star party" on Sept. 21, which will be the only time that it will be possible to look throuh the telescope by eye. This Fall Greenwood welcomes Bob Lentz, who will serve as our Interim Head of School for the 2007-2008 school year while our search committee (clerked by Cindy Schultz) conducts the search for our new, permanent Head of School. The school web site has gotten a new look and more capabilities—stay tuned as it continues to improve in the coming weeks. Most exciting of all, this year is Greenwood's 30th anniversary! Plans are already in the works for the celebration, which will be held in the Spring. More information will be provided as it becomes available. Have a great year! |
