Welcome to Ula Konczewska who is teaching Primary Languages and Cultures while Heather Almer is on maternity leave. Ula will be teaching a set of traditional folk dances from all over the world. The classes will initially focus on European dances and continue to move East while our Primary students learn about the countries and cultures of the Silk Trail.

Ula is originally from Poland and came to the United States in 2000 on a dance scholarship to study at Bloomsburg University. After graduating in 2005 with a Master’s in Instructional Technology, Ula and her husband Michael moved to Prague, Czech Republic. In Prague, Michael taught English to adults and Ula worked at an International (ESL) Art Preschool, where she taught English to children from all over the world through the Arts, including drama, music and dance. Last summer, she and Michael moved back to Bloomsburg where she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Ula’s extensive travel experience includes visits to Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Turkey and the US. She has been involved with dancing since the age of six.
