A stunning view of moon craters half in shadow, and a display of Jupiter with two of its moons clearly visible, were among the "stars" out at Greenwood for our first ever "Starry Starry Night." Nearly
a hundred people came to use hand-held telescopes and other astronomy
equipment provided through a grant from The Merck Foundation. "Ooohs"
and "aaahs" from adults and children studded the warm, nearly cloudless
evening.
Bloomsburg University Professor and school parent Mike Shepard brought along additional equipment for stargazing. He offered everyone a chance to look inside the dome housing the robotic telescope that is being installed by Bloomsburg University.
Greenwood is looking forward to more astronomy exploration! Call or email the school if you'd like to be notified of upcoming events.
