Intermediate/Middle School Teacher

Gavin joins the Greenwood Friends School family this fall as Intermediate/Middle School Cooperating Teacher. He and his wife Beth, a Bloomsburg native, moved from California to Bloomsburg this summer. It was in California, at San Jose State University, that Gavin completed his coursework and student teaching for his K-9 multiple subject credential. After finishing student teaching, Gavin accepted multiple long-term substitute positions in the local middle school where he received rave reviews from colleagues, supervisors, and students.
Gavin has traveled extensively while serving as an officer in the Navy and while studying and working abroad. He is nearly fluent in Spanish and French and hopes to learn many other languages in his lifetime. Gavin is very interested in sustainable living and environmental issues. He and Beth are buying a home with land just north of Danville where Gavin hopes to establish a biointensive garden and compost system and further his woodworking abilities.
