Director of Early Childhood Education & Teacher
Jenn is happy to begin her sixth year at Greenwood in the newly created Early Childhood Center. Jenn holds a BSEd in Early Childhood and Elementary and is passionate about the Reggio Emilia approach to early education. She was a teacher at Columbia Sullivan Head Start, a Child Care Coordinator for Columbia Child Development Program, and worked at the Berwick YMCA and Rainbow Hill Preschool. Jenn and husband Erol have three children: Aydin, Ayla, and Zeki, all of whom attend Greenwood.
Denise earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Temple University, a program that emphasized both design and fine arts. Art history, art appreciation, and communication through design are subjects she enjoys. She values serving the community as a volunteer at the Bloomsburg Public Library, spending time with her family, and “playing” in her garden. Denise had been our part-time Art Teacher and is now delighted to be teaching the students in our Early Childhood Center.
Grades 1 & 2 Teacher
Krista will be teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Greenwood for the 2017-18 school year. She previously taught our students in 2nd and 3rd grades. Krista has a BA in Elementary Education from American University and MSEd in Curriculum and Instruction from South Dakota University. Her years of teaching experience include inner-city public school settings, substitute teaching, and English subjects teacher at an Orthodox Jewish school.
Grades 5, 6, 7 & 8 Teacher
Audra received her B.S. in Education with a minor in Theatre Arts from Bloomsburg University. She taught virtually every level from pre-K through eighth in positions in Hazleton and Harrisburg before coming to Greenwood thirteen years ago. Since that time she has completed coursework in teaching secondary level English and theatre arts. Audra is an ardent supporter of arts in education and has designed and implemented various dramatic arts clubs and workshops. Audra launched the popular Kitchen Science course at Greenwood a few years ago and wrote a curriculum guide for teachers on the subject. Audra and her husband Jeremy, a musician/composer, perfom professionaly as a musical duo.
Grades 5,6, 7 & 8 Teacher
Elizabeth has more than 10 years experience teaching and developing curricula for her own classroom, including at Lewisburg Area High School. She holds a BA in Psychology and studied Animal Behavior/Psychology at Bucknell University for her Master’s degree. She is certified in Permaculture Design and in Teaching Permaculure to Children. Elizabeth has three children and is a regular attender of Millville Monthly Meeting.
Dottie continues her mission of teaching for life, joining Greenwood after retiring from public education. She earned her BSEd and MSEd from Temple, MSEd in Technology at Wilkes, and has taught since 1968. Her ancestors were martyred Christian teachers and she strives to support their belief that teachers are to serve the main dish of life with strength: Dignity Integrity Sincerity Humility, served with Christian love. Her ancestors and Spanish teacher would also expect that rather than retire, she devotes her life to the life-long responsibility of educating others.
New to our school in 2017, Catri most recently taught 3rd grade for two years at Mar Vista Elementary in Oxford, California. She received Bachelor’s degrees in dance and religious studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in curriculum and insruction along with teaching credentials from CSU, Channel Islands. Catri and her husband Paul have recently settled in Lewisburg.
Jody (Maida) Love joined GFS in January 2017. She has been teaching private music lessons in the area for several years. She spent the majority of her career in higher education administration before taking time to raise her children and establish a family business. Jody holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Science in Technology Education, both from Mansfield University of PA .
A former GFS alumna, Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree for Mass Communications with a minor in Studio Art from Bloomsburg University . Since 2001 she has been working as a photographer/owner of Willow Springs Photography. She and her husband Micah reside near Berwick with their two sons who are both currently GFS students.
Art Teacher (3-8)
Since graduating form University of Connecticut earning a BFA with a concentration in photography, Ruth has worked as a creative director at a graphic design firm, and has exhibited her work internationally. She also makes art jewelry and has been published in several books. Ruth lives in Bloomsburg with her husband, and two daughters who are enrolled in our ECC program.
