Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment that aligns with the mission and Quaker values of Greenwood Friends School. This role involves assisting with lesson implementation, managing daily transitions, supervising students, and fostering positive social-emotional growth for children from Pre-K through 5th grade.

Visual Arts Teacher (Special Subject)

The Visual Arts Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality visual arts instruction to students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Grounded in Quaker values, the primary goal is to nurture each student's unique creative spirit, self-expression, and lifelong appreciation for the arts. The teacher will educate students in practical, hands-on artistic skills as well as general art theory and history, creating a peaceful, collaborative studio environment that encourages experimentation, stewardship of materials, and joy in the creative process.

Substitute Teachers (Current Opening)
In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the substitute teacher is responsible for the continuation of all learning activities in the classroom. A spirit of cooperation, sharing, kindness and respect is expected at all levels. This individual must effectively implement instructional plans left by the teacher, communicate clearly with students and establish a positive climate, and maintain classroom discipline. Bachelor’s degree preferred and previous experience in a classroom setting required. This is an “on-call” position that yields a per-diem wage of $100.
