A New Chapter for Greenwood Friends School: Jessica Temple Named Head of School
Greenwood Friends School is pleased to announce Jessica Temple as its new Head of School.
Millville, PA, October 1st, 2026 – Greenwood Friends School is pleased to announce Jessica Temple as its new Head of School, effective October 1, 2026.
Temple brings to the role a strong background in organizational leadership and a deep commitment to the students, families, faculty, and staff who make up the Greenwood community. Temple, who was the previous Director of Administration and Business, quickly became a trusted and valued leader within the school, known for her thoughtful approach, collaborative spirit, and genuine care for others.
Temple, who joined Greenwood in 2024, holds more than 25 years of extensive professional experience in operational leadership, human resources, resource allocation, organizational development, and supporting the growth and well-being of employees and students.
At Greenwood, Temple has brought that experience together with a leadership style grounded in kindness, listening, and collaboration. Her approach aligns naturally with Greenwood’s Quaker values and its mission to nurture students who think critically, creatively, and compassionately.
“Jess is an important part of the Greenwood community,” said Melissa Rycroft, Board Clerk for Greenwood Friends School’s Board of Trustees. “She leads with both compassion and purpose, and she understands that a strong school is built through relationships among students, families, faculty, staff, and the wider community. She has demonstrated deep respect for our history coupled with innovative new ideas. I'm optimistic and excited for Greenwood’s next chapter under her leadership.”
As Head of School, Temple will guide Greenwood’s continued growth while strengthening the school’s academic programs, community partnerships, organizational sustainability, and commitment to providing children with a joyful, inclusive, and deeply engaging education.
“I am truly grateful to help lead Greenwood into its next chapter,” Temple said. “Greenwood is such a special place, and as Head of School, I look forward to building on the strong foundation already here while helping our school continue to grow and thrive. My focus will be on deepening our connections with families and the wider community, supporting our faculty and staff, and ensuring our students have the space and encouragement to be fully themselves.”
Greenwood Friends School looks forward to this next chapter of leadership and to continuing its work of helping children learn, grow, explore, and discover who they are and how they can contribute to the world around them.
